Mark 1

Mark 1

The Gospel of Mark, the shortest book in length among four books of Gospel in the New Testament, introduces  “the gospel of Jesus Christ.” The gospel means good news.

The writer wrote this book with specific people in mind, gentile Christians in Rome who were under persecution, and he emphasized the power of Jesus who was Messiah, His power over disease, power over sin, power over Sabbath,  and power over death.

Chapter 1 writes a brief introduction of who Jesus is, the Son of God who was prophesized by Isaiah, his baptism by John the Baptist, temptation in the desert. Then his action in public ministry, calling his disciples, driving out evil spirit, healing the sick.

Meditate on who Jesus Christ is to you. Make your prayer, and live it through out your day.
