Read Revelation 14

The vision of Lamb and angels are key point in chapter 14.

On Mt Zion, symbol of heavenly realm of God, the Lamb was standing with 144,000 people who had Father’s name on their forehead. The number, 144,000, is a symbolic reference to represent all the people of God.

Appearance of angels is to announcing the final judgement of the opponents of God. Sickle and sharp sickle in his hand, wine press, represent the tool of judgement. Babylon the Great represent all that was evil and oppressive. Babylon becomes another dramatic symbol for Roman Empire. 1600 stadia, about 180 miles, is a metaphor for the extent to which God’s judgement will bring about on the earth.

The key theme is the endurance by the faithful in 14:13. Those who endure to the end will be taken care of and ultimately preserved and vindicated by God. The certainty of victory by the angels brings hope.
