Read Hosea 6
Overview
Call to Repentance.
Hosea calls for repentance for Israel and Judah to return to God.
Calling for repentance is turning from their ways—breaking the covenant, unfaithfulness (v.7), blood shedding, murdering, committing shameful crimes, adultery, and defilement.
Acts of repentance is to acknowledge the Lord, who is merciful. Acknowledging God is higher than offering sacrifice.
What the Lord really desires are steadfast love and knowledge of him.
If Israel will but return to the Lord, he will heal her sickness and revive her.
